New initiatives, uniforms highlight 2018-2019 year in Mount Holly
The faculty and staff look forward to seeing our students and celebrating past traditions. At the same time, the school eagerly looks forward to welcoming new students, creating new traditions and implementing exciting new initiatives.
Building upon our existing Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STREAM) program, we are proud to announce the launch of Discovery Education. Through this innovative curriculum, students will develop the 4Cs:Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Creativity. They will accomplish this by working on projects which are based on the National Academy of Engineering Grand Challenges and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Sacred Heart School has also created a “What I Need” (WIN) block. Two days a week, our students will have skills based enrichment classes in math and language arts where they can work to enhance their strengths and strengthen their weaknesses.
Another new feature for the new school year are the new school uniforms. Sacred Heart students will now be outfitted by Tommy Hilfiger School Uniforms in the school colors. Students will also “dress to impress” using our full dress uniform on days of special occasion, such as the Mass that Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., will celebrate on Oct. 11.
Sacred Heart School is a Catholic school serving the greater Mount Holly area since 1944 and offers students from PreK3 through Grade 8 a traditional faith-based education that prepares them to be active and conscientious members of our Church and our community in the 21st century.
